What Is The United Nations Association?

The mission of UNA-USA (United Nations Association of the USA) is to educate, inspire, and mobilize Americans to support the United Nations, strengthen the UN system, promote constructive US leadership in the UN, and achieve the goals outlined in the UN Charter. They aim to foster a strong US-UN relationship and encourage public and political support for the UN among Americans. In short, the United Nations are the are the thousands of American members and those who support us in promoting human rights, sustainable development, international peace and security, and other goals outlined in the UN Charter.

At its heart the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
